Yarn Bombed Suffragette Bicycle

The Yarn Bombed Bicycle was an installation piece made for a local exhibition as outlined above, entitled 'Green:Purple'.
Interestingly part of the exhibition theme focused on the well known feminist Barbara Lee Bodichon.

Barbara Lee spent many years living in the very same building where I now live, here in Hastings.
My Yarn Bombed Bicycle is dedicated to her, and represents the freedom of women everywhere.

A world of Craftivism....

Some years ago I used to teach the Art of making Dream Catchers to young and old alike. I had a job at one point on Hastings Pier (long before it got burned down), employed by the local council for the 'Action back into learning Zone'  where I dressed as Hiawatha and showed folk who were passing through how to make a Dream Catcher.

The look on the faces and obvious sense of accomplishment, on both young and elderly alike, was priceless. Some of the participants had never attempted anything creative before and were astonished by their own results.

The Dreamcatcher you see here was one my son and I did in U.V thread at the Marina Pavilion, and by far the largest one we ever attempted.
